How would you rate the quality of food, amenities and location?

I would rate all aspects as excellent - the food was beautiful cooked and presented - every meal was stunning to look at as well as eat. The location was beautiful the space felt big but cosy at the same time. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed nice powerful showers - couldn’t have hoped for more

What is your biggest take away from the weekend?

I met an amazing group of people. I feel lighter almost. My words for the weekend on arrival for my year so far were chaotic and exhausting and I wanted to leave with a calmness to face the coming months. I feel that has been achieved and more I feel calmer and more focused

In order for us to improve, what could we do differently to make it an even better experience?

This was my first ever retreat and I can honestly say I don’t think I would change a thing I feel that there was a great balance of activities and downtime. I especially enjoyed the sound bath and surprisingly the practice of quite time until after breakfast

How was your overall experience at Beyond Asana Retreat ?

Its hard to put into words but this is my 2nd time doing this same retreat and it so felt like home to me. I let myself dive deep into the vibe created by Ian and Laura and felt very close to myself. The time I spent doing yoga and doing ceremonies and socializing with other members of the retreat gave me a chance to see the unexplored sides of myself. It is surely a time well spent. I am convinced I need a retreat every year and I now plan my year around it. Thank you beyond Asana team for all the heart and soul you put in to make me feel myself to the core.

Do you feel your needs/expectations were met?

Yes absolutely. I was well fed, well taken care of, and well loved.

Everything was managed very well. The location is amazing, quite a few things to explore in free time. Food was so so so fulfilling and accommodation was very comfortable.

April 24

How was your overall experience at Beyond Asana Retreat ?

The experience crossed a full spectrum of incredible, loving, funny, nourishing, challenging, sad, energising. At the end the feeling is of having been broken open and found yourself again.

Do you feel your needs/expectations were met?

I only had one need for the weekend and the reality was that I got soooooo much more from the experience. It is impossible to put in to words.

How would you rate the quality of food, amenities and location?

To be comforted by the food, amenities and location is a unique experience and it all combined to cradle us over the weekend. Ann Marie’s food was made with such love, not only for those attending but for what Iain and Laura were supporting us in. The food was light, healthy, colourful and full of flavour. It says a lot when you look forward to the food as much as a class. The amenities were incredibly well chosen. Space to relax, space to be outdoors, rooms away from the hubbub, big picture window, cosy couches, generous spaces, links to creativity and nature all around, views to the sea, across a fertile landscape, a beautiful palette of colour.

What is your biggest take away from the weekend?

Friendship, love, my tribe, open heartindness, laughter, dancing, ceremony, drumming. I hope you weren’t looking for one word.

In order for us to improve, what could we do differently to make it an even better experience?

I don’t think you should do anything differently.

For anyone interested in coming to future events, what would you say to them?

Hurry up and book it. Do it.

Are you happy for us to use your comments for testimonials to promote future events?

Of course.

Would you book again? Any last words?

Of course.

Ahmad

I loved the vibe of Iain and the smile of Laura. I loved how we had all the necessary facilities in our rooms. I loved how we were pampered and fed throughout. I loved how we only ate, slept, exercised, chatted and enjoyed. I loved how open and kind the atmosphere was. Yes, I did think the Kakau drink was a bit too bitter for me lol but I still loved the smell of it. I think anyone who gets a chance MUST attend this retreat. I have returned a totally changed person from this retreat. It made me more mindful and gave me the chance to make warm connections with other attendees. Lovedddddd it

B

Spending the weekend with Beyond Asana was an unexpected journey into astounding personal growth. What happens is truly magical and the space held for us all is just incredible.

How would you rate planning and communication prior to the retreat?

It felt a bit vague until very close to the weekend itself.. which might have been deliberate but for people new to process might be a little unsettling.

Dec 23

In as many words as you can how would you rate your overall weekend experience with Beyond Asana?

This was a heartfilling, full of joy safe space to be. I have come away from this experience fully recharged. Personal barriers were broken down, and old internal traumas worked on or completely removed. Laughter, love and tears flowed freely without judgement. Can fully recommend attending one of the retreats to unlock the true you in the most beautiful way.

How would you rate planning and communication prior to the retreat?

Five star experience right from booking thr retreat ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

How did you find the events and activities planned? Classes, workshops, spa and ceremonies …

All that was planned was done in a way that it felt that it was made and put together only for you. I would not change a thing about the weekend.

In as many words as you can what is your biggest take away from your weekend?

I have come away feeling at peace inside. That anything I want to do I can do if i choose to overcome my own mind, to let go and be myself fully in a world where we feel we have to hide ourselves from others opinions. I feel its easier to speak my own truth and mind more openly. I feel free inside.

Have you anything else you’d like to share with us regarding your weekend…

My heart is full, being on the next retreat.   Yes I give consent.

What advice would you give someone considering booking a retreat with Beyond Asana?

I would say the more open minded you are the more you will get out of it.  These retreats really do work, just look at how happy all these hippies are!

In as many words as you can what is your biggest take away from your weekend?

I fell into a deep meditation, becoming the observer of myself, and then coming to the realisation that speaking my mind will actually make me happier. No more masks.  I couldn’t have had this experience if it wasn’t for the safe and protective environment I was in.

Hazel

After attending the beyond Asana summer retreat I have a new zest inside me.

Doors seem to be opening in my life that I had been struggling with previously.

The entire experience will definitely be repeated on at least a yearly basis by me.

Over this weekend I was encouraged to push myself out of my comfort zones and experience how life could be without the fear of the unknown. Going into water especially the sea was a huge no from me. With guidance a wetsuit and encouragement from Iain Laura and other group members I conquered some of the uncertainty I've held inside and came out of the Sea feeling alive and rejuvenated.

There is so much I could write about, yoga sessions, sound healing, early morning walks, meditation, fabulous food,  feeling a sense of belonging somewhere the list goes on...

the weekend has left me feeling more grounded, at peace inside and more certain in myself that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart

Jenne

I loved the morning walk and Pranayama/Meditation in nature with such a stunning view that was purely Walking in Beauty and helped me to leave all the stress and anxieties I had the months before behind and just be there.

I enjoyed Ceremony as well as the Forrest Yoga class You taught. It was intense and fun it helped to look inside and to let go off all I wanted to let go off.
Anything that stood out to be a wow factor?

The whole organization of the Weekend there were so many surprises little bits made with so much love and it was just the perfect mixture! I loved the Little gua sha Workshop the same as the fire ceremony!
Anything we could have done to make it even better?

NO You were simply gorgeous!!!!

L

Best bits: getting to know the other attendees of the retreat and forming new friendships.  Doing yoga in person after so long practicing remotely and feeling people's hands adjusting me again!  Enjoying the communal spirit of doing yoga together.

Wow factor: location for sure!  It was wonderful to be so close to nature. And in terms of the classes, it was a wonderful balance of physical activity and mediation.

I don't think you two could have done anything else to make it even better.

Anon

In as many words as you can how would you rate your overall weekend experience with Beyond Asana? It was hard to top my first retreat but you did it! There was so much joy, so much raw emotion, so much community and so much love! Truly wonderful.

How did you find the events and activities planned?

I enjoyed everything - seriously, every activity worked so well. And of course you tweak things every time so no one gets complacent!

How were your hosts Laura and Iain?

Dream team! Genuine, caring, “slightly” doolally, empathetic and fun…

What advice would you give someone considering booking a retreat with Beyond Asana?

It would depend on who they are… but generally to most folk I know I’d be pushing them to go for it!

In as many words as you can what is your biggest take away from your weekend?

It could be that a Nissan qashqai is utterly useless in the snow… but maybe also that people are at heart beautiful, and loving and fun.

Have you anything else you’d like to share?

Iain and Laura, your retreats are just perfect. The level of personalisation and care that you achieve is really appreciated. Also, in what can often be a pretentious and false industry, you bring care, realness and a lot of fun and laughter.

Odile

This weekend will not be forgotten, it was such an amazing, mind-blowing experience!  It was a motherfucker of a weekend!!!

Best bits :  EVERYTHING!  maybe a favorite : your signature session, AWSOME....

The wow factor : oh dear, your signature session, again!!

Oh and the gorgeous alpacas, of course!  Laura, don’t try and sneak your new friend home next time !

To make it better : maybe get an extra help in the kitchen,  for your benefit,, not the guests’ !! so that you have less to think about and worry about!

Oh and don’t ask people what they don’t like!  or your ceiling will be totally covered in sweet potato falafel!

Could not have wished for a better place, better people, better location! it was TOTALLY PERFECT!

Fenham Farm is such a warm, inviting, cosy, beautiful place. Every object, every room has been thought... The location, well .... fantastic!

Everyone was so lovely, we created such a close group, there were such amazing vibes shooting from each one of us to the others, I’ve never felt so comfortable so quickly.

Food was brilliant, well done PAPA PAUL!

You two made this weekend something really really special, let’s have plenty more, please!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Rachel

It has taken me a few days to process the weekend and get back into some headspace where I could articulate how I am feeling.

Everyone has commented on how different I look and seem - I also seem to have some sort of mad open energy to manifest whatever I need - including a lift up a big hill this morning!

So I booked onto this retreat with myself in mind - time for me, time away, time to rest and to just be Rachel without the other roles following me to Scotland. I ended up exactly where I was meant to be I think.

What I experienced was something so far beyond that simple expectation. I felt undone and raw and held and calm and chaotic and reborn all at once!

I loved the sense of ceremony and connection to the earth and the ancestors. This resonated so much. I found the yoga physically challenging in all the right ways. Emotionally I was processing some serious stuff I think in terms of grief and found the Yin and Pin meditation really hard.

Highlights for me

- Sun salutes to music (and tears)

- Getting up to assisted handstand

- The cold water

- The camaraderie

- The laughter

I hope you both were able to rest and process all the energy and thank you so so much for holding such amazing space for everyone!

Sam

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

It’s really hard to convey what an incredible weekend you built and walked us gently through.

I say ‘gently’ as it’s how is was; yet you also made sure there was nowhere left for us to hide.

I have never felt so loved.

I genuinely didn’t realise feeling so loved in such vulnerability would reveal such strength.

I thought of strength as grit, as powerful aggression, as determination.

It’s actually vulnerability.

It removes the ‘story’, the ‘narrative’ we’ve attached to ourselves.

Pre-arrival on Friday I could feel my veneer becoming more polished, brighter and bolder…..

Thought it would take a week in rehab to even crack the surface.

I even set my stall out a wee bit taller.

How wrong was I.

45 seconds in and I was smashed.

I felt loved and able to be vulnerable.

I will never not be in awe of how you two lead that retreat.

The whole format.

The professionalism

The energy between you both.

The understanding and appreciation is next level.

Laura, your unwavering confidence, your absolute sense of self; it paved the way for us to be true to our own selves.

You make me feel so incredibly safe.

Thank you.

You are seamlessly wonderful and I have the most incredible respect for you and what you do.

You are from another world and I’m glad you’re currently traversing this one guiding us.

Iain, when I see you, I feel like I’m home.

You are the most incredible soul.

Your gift is the highest power.

You’re a conduit between worlds, dimensions & lives.

Sometimes when you speak, the voice is yours but the message from somewhere else.

You have the ability to allow me to trust.

I feel safe when you are there.

Sue

Well what can I say? A truly memorable and magnificent retreat. But so personal that everyone has taken different lessons away with them.

An excellent location with luxury accommodation in a really beautiful part of the world. Fabulous food, and more than enough to satisfy even the hungriest.

A really well lead and supported/supporting and nurturing physical, emotional and spiritual yoga practice that spoke to us each as individuals wherever we were on our yoga journey.

I loved the physical practice, chanting, meditation and ceremony. I am especially grateful for the opportunity to reconnect to nature in this beautiful setting.

The whole group were supportive of each other and respectful of other’s boundaries. Laura and Ian were great hosts and expert retreat leaders ensuring that everyone got what they needed from the retreat.

I carried a sense of peace and gratitude with me for weeks after the retreat, and find that I can still tap into this calm whenever I need it.

Would I do it again? Already booked

Thank you so much.

Susie

My language is in the felt sense at the moment - I have a post retreat feel of serenity! I loved being with you. I felt safe to show up and go with the flow, which is actually a massive deal for me! Everyone was very friendly and I hope I spoke up enough. I think I imagine I say more than I actually do!

To see how you have both morphed into confident, safe, emotionally gentle, powerful teachers is wonderful to see. You’ve inspired me.

I felt so honoured to be given a drum and to join in the singing and to be invited to call Kali! Massive beauty report for me! Thank you. . .

The fire and dancing was such fun. The power of each practice intensified throughout the retreat and the Soundbath came at the right time - big shake up at cellular level :)

There is a big shift emerging and I have found comfort in knowing I have some work to do alone - that place I hated! But I recognised this weekend that - for whatever reason has been ordained to me - I must complete a big task alone to turn my professional dreams into my professional reality. I yearn to run quirky programs and step away from one-to-ones being my only source of income. To have much more play and definitely some fun in my work.

My biggest takeaway is realising it’s way past time to drop this victim feeling and step into my power and create mega-tastic magic! I found peace with this and the confidence to actually make the transition from waiting to doing!

A huge thank you to you both for facilitating the cracking open & breaking down of my victim persona because what was lying beneath - in me, was what I was looking for from another!

I’m excited to reflect in a few months as to what has actually transpired!

Suzanne

You created the most beautiful safe haven where I felt the most peace, calm, tranquility and acceptance of myself. Once you‘ve experienced that feeling you want to keep going back for more! This was my second time here, bring on the third in the winter!

I feel like dreams can come true here and you find your inner self and beauty!

The breath work by the sea and mountains at sunrise were out of this world and the challenge of the forest yoga exhilarating and awakening. You just feel alive. And then you are fed the most unbelievable vegan food. It truly can’t get any better!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this experience.

Suzanne

It’s hard to find the words to describe just how happy I feel after one of the most memorable and life changing weekends made possible by Beyond Asana.  I just feel content with myself and have found that hope again that anything is possible when you believe it and let it. The sunrise walks and breath work literally took my breath away, the meditation brought streams of tears to my eyes but afterwards I felt I had let go in a way I hadn’t before, the yoga was challenging and exhilarating, the care and love shared over the weekend and the way we were looked after was exceptional and second to none, the vegan food was mouth watering and the friendships made will last always.

That is the best way I can describe how I feel. My dad has even said he hasn’t seen me as happy in a long while and my boyfriend is calling me a hippy as I wake up every morning singing the Cherokee morning song and it sets me up for the day. I’ve changed habits that I didn’t think possible, going to bed earlier, getting up earlier, eating more plant based foods and just believing in myself again. So for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart, and just dream of the next retreat. I believe my angel delivered the email from Laura to invite me to the retreat and it was meant to be to guide me through the next stage of my journey in life.

Forever in my heart.

Vicky

After having a full week to reflect upon the Spring Awakening retreat I am still finding it difficult to find the words to do it justice!

The weekend was powerful, emotional, restorative, joyous, amazing. I feel so lucky to have met and spent time with such lovely people in beautiful surroundings. Thank you Iain and Laura, you created a safe, open, happy environment and I loved every aspect of it. There's no way I can pick out one thing, the yoga, the singing, the fire ceremony..... The whole thing was a highlight. All in all a very special experience.

Thank you.

Yvonne

The retreat was amazing from start to finish. Iain and Laura were great hosts and teachers along with Annemarie's delicious, nutritious, vegan meals which definitely had the wow factor!

The weekend was spent with a lovely bunch of people and lasting friendships were made. I had only been to a couple of yoga classes before the retreat and have been inspired to carry on learning more.

The location and weather were the icing on the cake! Thank you for a very special, memorable experience!
